The Love of a Lifetime - Chapter 2

Harm and Mac got their promotions and new assignments. After talking, kissing, and getting engaged, they go to Murphy's to share the news with everyone. And Bud tosses the coin.

« Tails ! »

Mac always choses tails, why choose differently this time ? They all lean in to see on what side the coin landed, except Harm and Mac who look at each other and kiss.

« Heads! »

Harm looks so happy that Mac can only hide her disappointment behind a big hug to her new fiance.

« Congratulations, Harm. »
« Thank you Sarah. London, I can hardly believe it. »

Everyone cheers and congratulates Harm and Mac.

Later that night, they end up at Mac's apartment.

Mac throws her wrap on the couch. For the first time since Harm proposed, they're alone. And Harm finally sees the frustration on Mac's face.

« Mac. Whatever the coin toss was, we can go to San Diego. »
« No, Harm, you won fair and square. And London is a beautiful town. I'll resign on Monday, and start packing. I'll look for a job when we arrive in England. »
« You don't have to work right away. We could... »
« We could what ? »

Harm has a hopeful smile.

« I thought we could try for a kid. What do you think ? »

Mac is baffled.

« Harm, we got engaged only 5 hours and 36 minutes ago. It's way too early to think about having a baby ! »
« Sorry. I'd thought it be nice to have a kid of our own. We'll talk about it when you're ready. »

He pulls her in a big hug.

« Anyway, you don't have to quit the Marine Corps. I'm sure you'll be able to find something withing the military in London. You don't have to sacrifice your career. »

Mac puts her head against Harm's heart. They embrace a long time.

Finally, Harm reaches for her lips.

« Let me show you how much I love you. »
